The Argentinian Federation of Netball, F.A.N.E.T., started its activities in April, 2005, as a project of a group of people, all of them involved in sports , who, aware of the need to encourage an international women’s team game in Argentina, founded F.A.N.E.T., appointing, as the first measure taken, its Board of Directors. Two years later four institutions: Polideportivo BAMI, Saint Charles College, Jorge Newbery y Club Habana, supported the project becoming the founding institutions of FANET.
Currently, we are Full Members of IFNA, whose authorities not only give us support but also invite us to take part in different international events, and that’s our objective: to be able to participate in those events, welcoming all the people who would like to join us in our project.
Our aim is to encourage and develop Netball all over the country, inviting new educational institutions to become members of F.A.N.E.T., and giving sports counselling to their professionals.
To spread and promote the teaching of Netball, we organize workshops, training sessions and competitions in all the Institutions in Argentina, according to the Rules of the highest International Authority, IFNA.
Besides, owing to the different contacts we have made since 2003 and the information received, we consider we have a really vast horizon in front of us to develop this sport. Our responsibility , besides our home development, is to be the first Spanish-speaking country and the first in Latin America playing Netball. At the same time we are the bond between IFNA and the Spanish - speaking countries for the promotion and development of Netball.
This is the great challenge that will take us to a new sports stage in the framework of Netball’s international position.
