Welsh Netball Association (Cymdeithas PĂȘl Rwyd Cymru)
The Welsh Netball Association (WNA) was formed in 1945 and since then has flourished. Currently netball participation crosses all age groups from 'Dragon Netball' a modified game for primary aged children (7-11yrs) through to secondary schools, junior clubs, universities and finally adult clubs including veterans. Netball is played in almost all the schools in Wales mainly by girls but a higher proportion of boys have come into the game over recent years. WNA has a small staff, which includes a Chief Executive, a National Performance Director, five Development Officers and three administrators although several of the staff are part-time. Welsh Netball has a strategic plan for the development of the game throughout Wales and is a leading participation sport for women. It aims to be 'a sport for all' where Welsh Netball attracts and retains members by providing opportunities for them to perform and achieve at their highest level, whether as players, coaches, umpires, officials, volunteers or administrators.
