UK Sport is charged with leading sport in the UK to world class success.
Primarily this means working with our partner sporting organisations to deliver medals at the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
But it also gives us responsibility for activities best delivered at a UK level, such as the nation’s anti-doping programme; bidding for and staging major sporting events in this country; increasing our sporting activity and influence overseas; and promoting sporting conduct, ethics and diversity in society. Through our International Programme and various partnerships, we are actively engaged in promoting sport in 20 countries. We are leading the way in providing a vision for how the UK can harness the power of sport to change lives across the globe.
Established by Royal Charter in 1997, we are funded by a mix of Exchequer and Lottery income, responsible for managing and distributing more than £100 million per year.
UK Sport is a proud partner of IFNA and support IFNA programmes in Asia and Africa.
